Sorry for not getting back sooner, I was just getting our test team to compare the 2 implementation of the data service:
1. Using XAware
2. Using straight JDBC prepare statements (part of a webapp web service using
Spring but not for the JDBC calls).
Please find attached the results.
As you can see the degradation is considerable.
I am trying to sell this to the business, I have managed to get them to see the benefit of time to market and a single data integration layer, the only stumbling block is the performance, a small reduction in performance would be acceptable.
This specific service just reads from an oracle database, both services are deployed on Weblogic server, both have the same JVM settings and patches and both use the same configuration for the connection pools (data sources).
I would like to have your thoughts about this, if you need any more information please let me know.
