The Description column in the Apply Functoid window provides the appropriate choices for the first parameter. The first parameter can be "Date, Time or Timestamp". This means the proper solution for this is xaware:Format current date time or timestamp(Time,hh:mm a). Which will take the current time and return it in the format specified. If you want to format your own time rather than the current time, you should use the Format a Date Functoid.
