Hi,

I'm running Ubuntu 64bit and since there's no package available for XAware for this specific computer configuration, i'm trying to setup XAware in my own Eclipse installation (for 64bit) but i just can't get it to work (install). I've tried a lot of eclipse packages, from the Java package to the bare eclipse plateform, trying SOA package in between, and i always end up to this error when trying to install the plugin using Eclipse update manager :

Can anyone help me on this, or will I have to setup a VM with a 32bit system to make it work? Thanks for your help, Charles

Do I have to install WTP and/or WST before trying to install the designer plugin or it should work directly with this version?

I don't have a 64-bit Linux setup to verify but to my knowledge, it should just work.

It did work (almost),

I was able to install the XA-Designer plugin with the package of Eclipse you gave me without any error. However, when i restart Eclipse after installation of the plugin it doesn't seem to be active as there's no XAware perspective and no wizard to create XADesigner projects. For the moment it's not that important, it must be some eclipse configuration missing I suppose.

I've install XADesigner 6.0 for win32 on a virtual machine for my prototype that I have to complete for next week. If we go forward with XAware solution, I will spend some more time on my Ubuntu setup and post detailled instructions here to help others!

Keep in mind that installing the plugin into a standard Eclipse install does not provide all the customized configurations provided by available XAware bundled installations.

You would have to open the XAware perspective just as you would any other perspective in Eclipse by selecting Window | Open Perspective | Other | XAware Perspective to start using the Designer.
