XAware IF-MAP Project by frankh

On April 28, after two years of development, the Trusted Computing Group (TCG) released IF-MAP with the intention of garnering industry adoption and utliization.

"IF-MAP provides a standardized framework for network and security devices to publish device state data--such as IP address, authentication, or virtually any meaningful information--to a central repository that can be used by other applications. This repository can be used for security, asset management, discovery, or any other purpose."

The Challenge.
Manufacturers will need to adapt their technologies to the IF-MAP API.

The Project
Use XAware as an adapter creation tool to security technologies and devices in order to quickly enable IF-MAP for a broad user base in the security integration space.

We are currently working on the project reference architecture and a list of security technologies to begin integration.

As the project kicks off, we are asking for assitance and contributions in the following areas:

- Project Sponsorship
- Reference Architecture Steering Committee
- IF-MAP Industry feedback
- IF-MAP API expertise
- Adapter developers
- Requests for technology and device specific adapters

Look for more information here and on XAware's SourceForge page.

We look forward to hearing from you soon!
