Note: These instructions are specific to using the all-in-one install. For instructions to Run Designer from a plug-in, see these instructions (scroll to the Set up Designer to Launch heading near the bottom of the page).

Starting XAware Designer

Windows environment:

• Click the XAware Designer desktop icon.
• Select Start | XAware Designer from the Start menu.
• XA-Designer.exe from a command prompt in the designer directory in the XAware installation directory (/designer/XA-Designer.exe).

Linux environment:

• Use the symbolic link to Designer if created during installation.
• designer/XA-Designer from a terminal window in the XAware installation directory.

Within Eclipse:

Open the XAware perspective by selecting Window|Open Perspective|XAware Perspective.

Starting XAware Engine

Windows environment:

• Click the XAware Engine desktop icon.
• Start | XAware Engine from the Start menu.
• start.cmd from a command prompt in the XAware installation directory.

Linux environment:

• Click the XAware Engine symbolic link.
• start.sh from a terminal window in the XAware installation directory.

Tip: Always let the server completely start before sending requests
